I truly believe that the road to the impossible is cleared by education. My experience at The Juilliard School has transformed, challenged and humbled me. Mozart, Beethoven, and my professors have taught me more about music than I ever dreamed of. As a composer and film producer, I am combining theory with all I've learned, culturally and spiritually into my new film project, "Sedona, The Motion Picture."

Hate Crime (2005)

The indie thriller "Hate Crime," directed by Tommy Stovall, won 11 audience awards and raised significant funds and major awareness for anti-violence causes including the Anti-Violence Project and AIDS Committee of London. This was my first full feature and a cause that I was very passionate about. I composed the soundtrack using "The Section Quartet" to create a dark, ominous, eclectic theme. I was influenced by Tchaikovsky string arrangements, Wagner opera and Ali Farka Touré and brought in a world-renowned children's choir, vocalists from the L.A. Opera and the Gay Men's Choir of L.A., who also served as the background choir in my Billboard Top 20 Dance Club hit, "Jesus by 45". As Film Producer, I secured distribution deals- foreign and domestic, and handled marketing and PR in conjunction with Pasidg Productions.

Original theme created and performed by Ebony Tay with L.A. Choir (Baby Face, LA Reid)
I was commissioned to work with Artie Mandelberg (Executive Producer of "Saving Grace," "Miami Vice") to create a theme for "Out of the Dark" — a short film to raise funds for Violence Intervention Program (V.I.P.). This is an amazing organization devoted to stopping child abuse and domestic violence. It was a challenge to create a transformational piece given the dark subject matter but I was able to draw on my roots and love of country, rural and Appalachian-style guitars, to create a soulful urban rock theme.
